Kale and pomegranate salad with apple vinaigrette?
Your kids loved it!
We recently tried a Kale and pomegranate errols salad with apple vinaigrette dressing. The students actually liked it! Thanks to the fresh fruit and vegetable grant we received from the State of Oklahoma Department of Education through Federal programs, we are able to provide and introduce students to a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables outside of the cafeteria meal program. Just in the month of September students have tried plums, sweet potato sticks, kiwi, figs and avocado to name a few. Our motto is "You never know what you like until you try it!" Encourage your students to broaden their pallet and try new foods. Our tastes are always changing and there are so many ways to serve the variety of fruits and vegetables available to us!

Many of the meals being served on October's lunch menu are highlighting recipes from the Cooking for Kids website and program.
