Hello parents,
I am so excited to begin the new school year! I am praying that we will all stay healthy and make it through this uncharted territory! There will be lots of handwashing, disinfecting and cleaning happening this school year. With the extended break and the impact of the virus on social/emotional health, we will be focusing on identifying our feelings and learn how to navigate this new normal we will be living. I believe that student's emotional needs must be met first so that their brains are capable of receiving their educational needs. We will also be learning about being independent and responsible students. We will be preparing and learning how to be responsible students in class and from home. I absolutely love teaching and promise to care for and love your child through this school year!
We will be using Seesaw and Google Classroom this year for students in the Virtual Academy and when/if we have to shut down and move to all online school. Distance Learning Packets will be sent home the first week of school detailing the how and when of learning from home as well as a schedule and all logins your student will need to be successful. Remember, you will be my Teacher's Assistant when/if distance learning happens - I am relying on you to help your child be responsible for tuning into live sessions, watching recorded lessons and getting their work done timely. This will be a challenge for all involved, but together we can do it!
