As required by Section 311, Title 25 of the Oklahoma Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of Elementary School District No. 31 of Canadian County, Oklahoma will hold a Regular Meeting on July 18, 2022, at six o’clock p.m., at the Banner School Cafeteria, Banner Public Schools, at 2455 N. Banner Road, El Reno, Oklahoma 73036.

Call meeting to order.

 

Roll call.

 

Discussion and possible board action regarding last month’s meeting’s minutes.

 

Communication

 

PTA Report.

 

Open Issues:

1.    Discussion and possible board action regarding the P.T.A. financial report.

 

2.  Discussion and possible board action regarding the sanctioning of P.T.A. for the 2022/2023 school year.

 

3.  Discussion and possible board action on the school roof project.  Updates presented by Rick Scott Construction. 

 

4.   Board to receive Superintendent’s recommendation to terminate employment of Lee Eastman support employee.  This individual was provided statutory notice of his right to a due process hearing and has waived his right to a hearing. 

 

5.    Discussion and possible board action to approve superintendent’s recommendation to terminate employment of Lee Eastman, support employee for violation of board policy DOAC in accordance with Title70 of Oklahoma Statutes sections 6-101.40 through 6-101.47, cause item # 16 -Threatening, intimidating, coercing, or interfering with employees, supervisors, or students at any time. 

 

6.  Proposed executive session to discuss the 2022/2023 temporary employment contracts of certified personnel: Kim Fletcher, Ashley McDonald, Alyssa Miller, Nathaniel Walk, Rita Wally, and Melanie Willoughby; the 2022/2023 employment contracts of certified personnel: Allison Bedell, Robin Enright, Meishel Fry, Phyllis Dawn Gomez, Sheryl Hoyle, Brenda Kirkegard,Hayden Logan, Krista Mohr, Matt Mohr, Christy Norton, Dawn Novosad, Paula Reid, Darla Reynolds, Cora Jeanne Riggs and Christina Sharp; the 2022/2023 employment contracts of support staff: Laura Bornemann, Maria Castanon, Chris Etheredge, Denise Faulkner, Charlotte Heupel, Erin Jinkens, Hayley Leibold Logan,  Diana Mapes, Lori Merhib, Stacey Miller, Dawn Muir, Kodi Nichols, Jacob Rhoades, Shawn Robinson, Barbara Stevens, Kim Stringer; the 2022/2023 temporary support contract of George Robert Wilson; the 2022/2023 extra duty contracts of certified personnel: Robin Enright, Kim Fletcher, Dawn Gomez, Brenda Kirkegard, Hayden Logan, Krista Mohr, Matt Mohr, Michael Prior, Paula Reid, Christina Sharp, Samantha Smith, and Nathaniel Walk; the 2022/2023 extra duty support contracts of  Denise Faulkner, Charlotte Heupel and Diana Mapes; and the 2022/2023 Adjunct Teacher contract  of Diana Mapes for CTS; and the employment and contract a new certified teacher pursuant to 25 O.S., Section 307(b)1.

11. Discussion and possible board action to employ a certified teacher on a temporary contract. 

 

12.  Discussion and possible board action regarding the 2022/2023 Banner School Activity Fund Budget and Fundraisers.

 

13.  Discussion and possible board action regarding the 2021/2022 General Fund ($11,823.35), Building Fund ($56,000.00) and Child Nutrition Fund ($0.00) Reserve. 

 

 14.  Discussion and possible board action regarding the 2022/2023 contractual agreement between The Center for Education Law and Banner School District.

Encumbrance Approval.

            Board to consider the following encumbrances with possible action:

            a.General Fund New: 1-171, 70001-70107 for the amount of 

              $3,570,736.97

           b.General Fund Change for 2021/2022:  3 for an increase of  $843.77

            c. Building Fund New: 1-4 for the amount of $972,863.00

            d. Child Nutrition New: 1-15  for the amount of $133,475.00
